The Search Continues...

HOUSE SEARCH UPDATE:

We gave up on the one in the last post. When we got there, the spiral stairs were very treatcherous, and there were three new townhomes going up about ten feet away, nextdoor. Also, the area was not quite residential enough. Now, we're going to get a pre-inspection on the Craftsman-style fixer in Wallingford. It's a block from a middle school, among tons of beautiful houses. The only downer is the yard is small to nonexistent, and we'll have to do a LOT of work, new kitchen, bath, floors, maybe siding, lots of paint. The cool thing is that the houses next door are worth about 50% more than this one, so we'll make some equity with our fourth job: Our baby, Molly's work, my work, and the house... No pictures right now, but stay tuned, we'll take some when we go see it again tomorrow or Saturday.

Main floor: 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, long narrow living room / entry with fireplace and built-in-bookshelves, big formal dining room, small kitchen with a booth;

Unfinished Basement: laundry, utility sink, furnace/hot water, three rooms (could be any number of rooms, really), separate entry from back of house.

Garage: Small one car, with room for a second car in the driveway.
